I love the idea of Fun Fun Friday! We do that at our company too. We have done something as simple as High Five Friday – where the top execs go around and give the staff high fives for the great job they are doing to a rock paper scissors tournament (best 2 out of 3).
As I’ve been learning to coach the Enneagram, I’ve learned that quizzes and first-impressions can be wrong when trying to find one’s type. I encourage people to keep an open mind for a while and explore a couple possible options before determining their type.
My coach tells the story of how a famous Enneagram expert declared that she was a specific type, but it turns out (after years of self-exploration and now doubt because “the expert can’t be wrong”) that she is, in fact, a different type. Knowing her true type made all the difference and she has understood, learned, and grown so much more since working from her true type.
Therefore, Sarah, I recommend you explore both type 1 and type 6 for a bit. Liz, I too was surprised that you were a 3 (you might be right, I just wouldn’t declare it yet) and recommend you also explore type 6 and 9. Types 3, 6, and 9 share the power triangle of the Enneagram and can be hard to distinguish from each other sometimes.
