I am so glad Liz went to the Day of Mindfulness. All through my 30s and early early 40s I was a go-go-go work all the time person. In 2003 I went to a five day mindfulness retreat with Thich Nhat Hahn and I’ve been building my mindfulness practice since. I recommend it as a way to change your brain and change your life. Good for anxiety too. Headspace App is also helpful.
Really enjoying the podcast so far! (also a fan of Happier).
Loved your tales of meeting/interview dos and don’ts. I have lots of stories of don’ts from a year of working at DuPont as recruiter years ago. So many crazy stories of things interviewees did! We interviewed candidates on their 2nd interview, with a visit to corporate headquarters with a Fortune 500 company, so you would think people would be on their best bahavior. One guy told us during lunch that he was certain he’d been abducted by aliens!! Another guy showed up without a tie or jacket and had to wear the “house jacket” (which was several sizes too big) when I took him to breakfast at the Hotel DuPont. The worst, though, was a guy who made up his entire resume – everything – the degree, the work experience. He’d actually been a copy machine repairman at the place where he said he had engineering experience! Unfortunately, we didn’t find out until the plant where we placed him called 3 months later – gulp. Lesson learned: ALWAYS check references!
Loved your story about the woman whose tooth fell out!
Enjoying the show very much – keep up the good work!

Loving this podcast so much. Not sure it is really relevant to me (I’ m not in the creative field, and don’t live in Hollywood) but I just adore Sarah and Liz! You guys make me laugh.
I’m listening from the beginning so only up to this episode, hence the late comment.
